Some Poems from the dark

read slowly

I
slowly
very slowly
left myself
and there was empty space
millions of dots to form the void
and I was not -
light - red and bright
I climbed
high
over and above
there was love
woven with blue
the green was not true
and it blew
the soft
slowly away
back into the heavy clay

the scarecrow

The eagle ate my eyes,
I did not bleed, I felt the pains
seeing my friends going for war,
I stayed in my field
neither feeling the cold nor the heat.
The hat was a robin’s hood
the dress I wore was in regress
and in shame showed both my legs
spread apart and planted in the soil;
I had to scare the crows
but instead they nestled in my soul.

insane

while the bluebird sang my song
with the beat of falling leaves
and raindrops into puddles grow
tune the inner mind to say -
I do not want to live again

across the miles it travels fast
changing the colour and sound
apart from blood and blood
it lives on what comes from the ground -
I do not want to be burnt again

praise the healer of the dead
who sings the nightmare on a tree
withers white to life beyond
when the sun sets deep in the sea -
I will never be dead again

another day

to pour hails of blessings
when you have not
to feel old when you’re young
and the rain falling
puts you down

to feel hurt and burnt
when your brother suffers the pain
to walk through puddles
and see reflecting there
visions unknown -

to feel afraid
when light makes shadow or shade
to go on and on
the rain washing you
unchanged you walk on
with the spirit of the day

immortal isle

blossoms that filled the eye
masked the turkish curves that veiled
reality from the horror movies
of an egyptian-nile flooded and loved
with phoebus stroking my delights
pitted in stones of cold ice
ophidians crawling around the tighs
of featured feaces frozen roses brown
till the placeless plaque melted
and fell ill on the door-step
of my nowhere immortal isle

raindrops...in july

hail beautiful fresh raindrops
come down and clean
the dirty dusty streets
of this scourged island
            and as the raindrops fall
            my sad heart crawls
            towards the grey skies
            and happiness shines
            and lightens my spirits

hail golden raindrops
sweep away the long summers
help us travel in idle slumbers
and filter the cool clear air
from all that has been said
by all those heated heads

strangely enough it rained today
anything can happen on any day
bewitched by the system
converted by time
we were squeezed to believe
that all is well and planned
to remain as it has always been
till today when raindrops
fell to freshen the july crops

while the farmer smoked a pipe
in the solitude of his mind
